In quiet moments, soft and true, a bear begins in shades and hue,
with practiced hands and Artist’s eye, I bring each gentle soul to life.
From teddy bear fur to painted grace, a tender blush on every face,
each tiny stitch, each sculpted seam, is part of my enchanting dream.
With shoes adorned and details rare, no two alike ~ no copy there,
a pumpkin here, a heel so fine, each piece a touch of my design.
Collectors pause and softly smile, drawn in by charm and careful style,
for in my bears, they come to see, a world of warmth and artistry.

Lady Victoria proudly celebrates America's Anniversary ~ a tribute to 250 years of freedom, courage, and the dreams that continue to unite our nation. May her patriotic heart inspire pride today and hope for tomorrow.
Lady is appropriately dressed for her party in her red wool felt hat with rhinestone encircling the hat stack, blanket stitched edging, lady Liberty/American flag/ 1886~1986, vintage brooch and plenty of red, white & blue bow loops the complete her hat.
Her blouse & undies are wool felt also with another brooch with red sparkly rhinestones. She's 7 3/4" tall including her hat.
Lady has a surprise for you, should you decide to adopt her, that’s gift wrapped and stays with the
theme of the 250th celebration. Plus, a 6 3/4” commemorative round decal to place on your car window or any other flat glass place that you’d choose.
She has German glass eyes with eye whites ~ hand embroidered red white & blue nose ~ open mouth concept ~ bendable arms & straight leg armatures ~ wool felt Trapunto paw pads ~

Some artists discover their calling. Dolores J. Austin — known warmly to her devoted collector community as "Teddi" — was born with hers. From the earliest years of her childhood, she possessed an unstoppable creative drive that no limitation could contain and no obstacle could quiet. Today, with over thirty years of professional artistry behind her, Teddi stands as one of the most beloved and recognized names in the artist bear and decorative painting world — a distinction earned one handmade stitch, one careful brushstroke, and one joyful collector relationship at a time.

The Beginning: A Little Girl Who Made What She Imagined
Teddi's story begins at age seven, when her mother sat with her and patiently taught her to hand sew. In a household where extra money for indulgences was scarce, young Dolores did not simply wish for doll clothes and a dollhouse — she made them herself. That early lesson planted seeds that would grow into an extraordinary creative life: the belief that imagination, skill, and determination could bring anything into being.
Before her bears, Teddi created beautiful hand-sewn rag dolls, complete with handmade clothing and hand-painted faces. It was in painting those tiny expressive faces that she first discovered the power of a brushstroke to convey life and personality — a skill that would later define her decorative painting career.
The Bears Are Born: 1995
In 1995, a friend asked Teddi if she could make a teddy bear from her mother's treasured mink stole. Teddi's characteristic response? "How hard could it be?" She made it. And she was utterly, completely hooked. The rest, as she says simply, is history.
From that first sentimental mink bear, Teddi's artistry grew into something remarkable. She graduated to the gold standard of artist bears — mohair — and began creating large, breathtaking pieces up to 33 inches tall, which she took to prestigious Teddy Bear shows across the United States and eventually around the world. Today her bears are treasured by an international community of devoted collectors.
A Story That Comes Full Circle
Long before teddy bears filled her studio, Teddi's artistry was already turning heads. In her twenties, she was approached by a home builder to create a prototype of an actual Prow Point home — built to blueprint specifications for sizing accuracy, complete with a removable roof revealing a fully furnished interior, crafted to mirror the original in every detail.
It was, she recalls, surprisingly natural. That little girl who once made her own dollhouse from imagination and determination had never really gone away. The skills, the patience, the eye for detail — they were already there.
Once an artist, always an artist.
